Cat 3 Cup

The series competition is open to all New Jersey USA Cycling licensed riders eligible for Category 3 races, regardless of age category.
Riders must belong to an NJBA club in good standing.
Points are awarded to eligible riders placing in the top 10 in an event. Points are as follows: 1st Place=10 points, 2nd Place=9 points... 10th Place=1 point.
Riders upgraded during the series will retain the points that they have earned and will still be eligible for overall awards, but will no longer be eligible to earn additional points.
Riders changing teams to another NJBA club will retain all points earned. Riders changing teams to a non-NJBA club will lose all points and eligibility.
Riders are responsible for properly registering for each event.
Scoring is based on the official results posted by the Chief Judge for each event.
Ties are broken by the number of 1st place finishes, then 2nd place finishes, etc.
Cup points for the Time Trials are awarded to the ten best times of all Category 3 racers regardless of what age-graded event they enter. It is your responsibility to inform the registration staff of your category so it may be indicated properly on the results.
Cup points for the State Road and Criterium Championships are awarded in the Category 3 race only.
At the end of the season each rider's 2 lowest scored events will be dropped from his/her overall point total.
All decisions made by the NJBA Cat 3 Cup committee are final.
Team cup results will be calculated by adding the final rank of the top three riders from each team as follows: 1st Place=20 points, 2nd Place=19 points... 20th Place=1 point. All other finishers (if needed) will receive 1 point. Ties will be broken by the rider with the highest individual ranking. Teams must have at least 3 finishers to be counted.
A leader's jersey will be provided to the rider leading in points every time the lead changes.
The leader's jersey MUST be worn in all Cup races or no points will be awarded in that event to the leader.
